Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Apprenticeship Programme
This development programme and qualification is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to perform the day to day responsibilities when supporting teaching and learning within a school environment.
The Level 2 apprenticeship programme is divided into 2 distinct areas of study, the certificate in specialist support for teaching and learning in schools plus functional skills which include English, maths and ICT. You will be supported and guided throughout the training and assessment by your tutor.

- Improve own and team’s practice in schools
- Health & safety
- Equality & diversity
In addition you will choose optional subjects that reflect the work you carry out within the school
You will also work towards the achievement of the following functional skills
- English level 2
- Maths level 1
- ICT level 1
- Employees rights and responsibilities (ERR)
- Personal learning and thinking styles (PLTS)
The Learning and Assessment Process
Throughout your programme you will supported by your tutor who will provide training, coaching, 1:1 assessment and progress reviews. You will be continually assessed, completing a variety of assessment activities that will contribute to the achievement of your certificate. Functional skills will be assessed by way of online exams at appropriate stages within your programme.
